I am here for Friends

About Me

This memorial page is in honor of Grandmaster Chuck Lee Beach and is hosted and managed by his brother, friend, and business partner in life, Grandmaster Larry Lee Morgan as a place where his students, friends, and family can visit, leave comments, and add their own remembrance to our friend who passed away way to soon in the prime of his life. His spirit touched many people and changed the lives of all he came into contact with. The world is a better place because we were all blessed to know him. On behalf of his son Brandon Lee Beach, family, his students, and his friends, I open this page to keep his spirit alive. May God bless and keep him in the palm of his hand.Grandmaster Larry L. Morgan Grandmaster Chuck Lee Beach Chuck Lee Beach joined the Guardian Angels in 1989 and was a Trainer for the San Diego Chapter and also trained some of the LA members. Chuck Beach was adopted at the age of 6 by a Chinese father and from that day forward started his lifelong training in the Martial Arts. Chuck learned the old style and traditional Wing Chun from his father. Wing Chun is a Chinese Martial Art that specializes in aggressive close-range combat. Chuck mastered this combat. As Chuck got older he studied multiple styles and became proficient in them all but his main style always remained Wing Chun and he applied it to every style he studied. Chuck took what was not efficient from each style he learned and altered it to be more streamline and effective. A few of the styles out of the 8 he studied were Kickboxing, Savate, Shotokan, Judo, and Tae Kwon Do along with studying wrestling and boxing. Chuck taught a more lineal style. All of his kicks and strikes were direct to the opponent and the target with pinpoint accuracy. He did not believe in flashy kicks and strikes but effective ones. His style was effective and worked on multiple opponents. Chuck’s style worked on the streets and it was proven through countless altercations with one to 5 subjects at a time. Chuck was a World Champion and at one time was listed with the quickest sidekick on the West Coast timed at 75MPH. He then broke that record years later with an 86MPH round kick. Chuck had speed that was unparalleled and that combined with his multiple counter strikes made him unbeatable. Chuck Beach was an Ex-Navy SEAL who used his Martial Arts training to teach fellow SEALs while he was in the Teams. Chuck always kept a low profile and chose as a civilian to use his knowledge and skills to become a member of the Guardian Angels. Chuck trained most of the San Diego Chapter through the 1990’s until he was deployed with the DOD and then upon returning he opened the Association of Martial Arts School. Prior to opening this school Chuck never taught more than 3-4 students at one time. Some of his methods were out of the ordinary but effective. Chuck trained students in parks, on beaches, on the street and in the mountains, not just in a Dojo. Chuck began to train for the Olympics in the 1990’s but due to DOD commitments he had to drop from that training. Chuck Beach lived, breathed and bled the Guardian Angels. He believed in the community pulling together and looking out for each other. He hated to see anyone become a victim and did all he could to help prevent that with his knowledge and skill. Chuck Beach unfortunately was taken from us while he was in his prime in December of 1999 after he lost his battle with skin cancer. Chuck loved life, loved his friends, loved his wife, loved his son Brandon and loved the Guardian Angels. He honored all Guardian Angels whether he knew you or just met you. He was dedicated to his friends and devoted to his inner circle of friends. Regional Coordinator Frank “Gunny” Lee learned about Chuck Beach from Larry “Spike” Morgan and Scott “Koop” Koppenhofer. Both of which trained and patrolled with Chuck in San Diego. Because of what Grandmaster Chuck “Kid” Beach stood for also represents all that a Guardian Angel is, Frank “Gunny” Lee re-named the Guardian Angels Training Award, The Chuck Beach Training Award. Those that receive this award will understand what Chuck stood for and the recipients must emulate the same standards. Through this award Chuck lives on and through the Angels that receive the award he lives on because they will carry on his vision and commitment. On this wall is a copy of the Chuck Beach Training Award. Any Guardian Angel that receives this award should be honored and all those that receive it should be respected by all Guardian Angels. R.I.P. Chuck Lee Beach (Kid)
