Those Damn Free-Form Activist isn't the official name of our movement. It's just a phrase we picture the suits saying when they hear about our activism. This movement started off nothing more than regular folks in the Los Angeles market turning on their local rock radio station and listening to the only free-form rock ‘n’ roll radio show left in the US of A. Hosted by the god-father of free-form himself: Jim Ladd.
The fans of the show never met in person. We didn’t even know each other existed. We were just doing our thing like we normally do. Much like you are doing right now.
Then one day Ladd started a MySpace page and all us fans started to join the page. The MySpace page was only suppose to be used for song request. However, us fans started to post images to go with the lyrics of the songs. Then us fans started to talk to each other outside of the MySpace page.
After awhile the idea exploded into a family of friends who love rock ‘n’ roll and free-form rock radio. Then we started to have parties at our houses where we listened to the show and had fun. Then the show started to stream online. Then we started to think about spreading the word about free-form rock radio to other cities.
EVERYONE WAS GAME.
After a trip to San Francisco we learned that the best way to spread the word would be online. Our mission is to bring free-form radio to your ears. We know once you hear this artform you will call your local rock station and ask that they change their format to free-form rock radio.
If you too would like to join this world please visit 95.5 KLOS (Los Angeles FM Radio) from 8pm-1am M-F (PST) and listen to the stream.
Also, don't forget to check out the MySpace page that started it all www.myspace.com/jimladd
LEGAL SHIT: We are nothing but fans of Jim Ladd and his radio show. We are in no way legally or financially tied together with Jim Ladd and/or 95.5 KLOS.
