Surrealists

The Surrealists started off as something for the 2 members (Storry 25 & Ashley J 23) to do in their spare time. It started when the 2 old friends from going to old house nights met up randomly at a afterparty and both ended up playing on the decks that night. Immediatley realising they had similar sound interests (tribal, ethnic minimal / techno) and how well they worked together getting people moving they decided to get the Surrealists project up and running, aswell as help get the city of Hull recognised as not just a funky / electro night.
The Surrealists have been a duo now for around 10 months and their sound is becoming more and more appreciated on the scene.
On the production side, after only 9 months producing the duo are really starting to show their talent and where their main influences have / are coming from. Bullet:Dodge Records have recently signed up 'Show Me On The Ghetto Blaster' and is due for release mid July, so things are looking good for the duo. With a remix by Gareth Whitehead. They are merging all of their tastes to mould a new tribal, minimal, experimental sound which has had numerous thumbs up, from many DJ's inc... Nic Fanciulli, Prudo, AKA AKA, Alfra Romero and Michael Costa to name afew.
The guys continue to make their DJ sets and tracks as unique as possible and have recently spread thier attention to Manchester where things are looking very promising for them, with afew things in the pipeline coming very soon...
2009 for Surrealists hopes to be a very productive year and we hope we will have your full support on the Surrealists journey. They already have a new night running now that is established as a top Techno/Minimal night 'Surreal Sessions' and are working on something in the Manchester area as well.
