About Me

Richard J (James) Stanley -'There are 360 billion cows in the world'
Richard J (James) Stanley is a world-famous yet unsigned Staffordshire based singer/songwriter. His lyrics address the issues facing Britain's modern day young youth today, tackling problems such as man eating cows (Scared of Cows), love of steak (The Steak Song) and, of course, pirates (The Pirate Song). No newcomer to the music scene, Richard has written songs that are sometimes over three minutes long, and has performed live to capacity crowds at venues holding as many as five people. 2007 is set to be the year in which Richard gets a year older!

Jumbotron - The Album!

Well, after missing the original release date by nearly a year, the album, ''Jumbotron', is FINALLY here! Mixing smooth acoustic beats with cows, steak and beards, Jumbotron is surely the album of the year. For some time now Jumbotron has been steadily building up a cult fan base based on its unique interpretation of life. You'll not find songs of love or heartbreak on Jumbotron, just an honest take on what it means to be hungry. Richard's fear of cows, as well as his strange policy regarding beards, is communicated with surgical precision over the 30-something minutes of Jumbotron's journey. Why not join the adventure today!?

You should be able to download the entire album free of charge from Richard's eSnips public folder, which you'll find HERE . Enjoy! *

Richard J (James) Stanley is the lead singer and guitarist of Richard J (James) Stanley. Richard J (James) Stanley is also the lead guitarist (although none of his tracks feature solos as he doesn't understand what they are), and the lead manager. Mr. J. Daniels provides keyboard support and groupie services are provided by Queen of England Elizebeth Royal.

Influences: When wearing his pants, Richard likes to listen to The Beatles, David Bowie and The Chuck Norris Kick-Ass Yoga Meditation Tape ..3. None of these however influence his music in any way whatsoever. As influences, Richard points toward Kitchen Foil's later albums, the Duster Brigade's demo tapes and, of course, anything by Fifth Gear Milk Float.
Sounds Like: Richard's music has been described by music critics (although it hasn't) as a mix between Syd Barrett era Pink Floyd, afro era Simon & Garfunkel and the Black Eyed Peas era Black Eyed Peas. If The Time's most important music critic listened to Richard's songs, he would most likely say that Richard is a songwriter of a calibre far exceeding that of (John) Lennon and David Hasselhoff combined. Richard sounds like Martin Luther King's 'I Have a Dream' speech fed through a Marshall stack with plenty of feedback and reverb.
