Jesse was born in Northern California and has been playing the guitar since he was 5. He began his guitar training on the classical and found an immediate affinity for the music of Julian Breem, a classical guitarist with roots in the music of Django Reinhardt, J.S. Bach, and popular Spanish pieces.
Jesse followed in those footsteps until he was 12, when the rock and roll bug took over and changed his focus for ever. He has been playing guitar, both in solo settings and bands since 1989 with a more edgy focus. But, the rock and roll paradigm was not a limiting factor as his style has remained fluid for his entire career. From Shred Metal to twangy slide guitar, blues romps and even some more poppy overtones, Jesse has been able to maintain his flexibility even while playing as a solo performer.
Because of his passion for music, Jesse pursued a career with one of the preeminent Digital Audio Workstation companies of the moderm age. With 8 years working with Logic software, first for Emagic and then for Apple Inc. he was able to hone his skills in the studio, turning out professional quality demos from his home studio.
Over the entire course of his musical career Jesse has continually worked to improve his guitar playing and songwriting skills. He counts among his influences George Lynch, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and Mark Knopfler. And these varied artists’ sound are apparent undertones of the work that Jesse crafts even today. Much like Julian Breem’s work which was one of his original inspirations. Including the Spanish infused tones of the eastern scales in some of his harder driving tracks.
Jesse’s new album Out of the Roughs, currently in production, showcases his raw talent and skill in not only virtuoso guitar playing but also finely crafted songwriting.
