i think the 1 1/2 hour mainstream hollywood ones are generally overrated. that is not to say i am not greatful for dirty dancing, gone with the wind and billy maddison. although it was a goreiffic i am STOKED that an inconvenient truth was made, who killed the electric car, political propaganda, baraka, extreme board sport movies that motivate me, most recently ultimate sessions
don't usually watch it as it turns me into a zombie. i am still recovering from a sunday afternoon screenings on usa of childsplay and gremlins. wait those are movies... my sister's boyfriend Andrew Yani works in TV so i am learning more about it. i think the whole reality TV trend is fascinating, but the only shows i have ever been diehard about was really bev90210.
THE LORAX the most recent one i actually finished was confessions of an economic hit man. i've big stack next to my bed of mostly nonfiction environmental topics, but i don't read nearly as much as i pretend to. i should probably try more fiction. some of my most cherished books are this illustrated rumi book, fatal harvest and of course the permaculture designers manual. i remember being stoked on ray bradbury and wierd scifi stuff in like 7th grade, and then trying to get into the wierd existential writers, but as far as titles i actually remember "over the mountain wall "and "the yanomamo" are pretty badass books, i think the last time i actually read fiction was in 2000, way of the peaceful warrior, celestine prophecy, ishmael. cradle to cradle, fast food nation stoked those went mainstream. i should read more. i like being read to.
