Devils Mistaken For Angels

About Me

Sharing space in Chicago and Louisville, two naturally red headed, hard drinking, slow fucking, weed smoking, meat eating (well, one of us), calling your kids bullshit, irish boys under the moniker, Devils Mistaken For Angels, continues in the grand tradition of Planes Mistaken For Stars by plugging in random words in the (Blank) Mistaken For (Blank) band naming program developed by NASA.
Featuring ex-members of a bunch of famous, or at least famously obscure these days, screamo bands (from back when the term meant something and you couldn't buy it at Hot Topic), DMFA aims to reinvent the shoegaze genre by being even slower, more induced by drugs and substance greater than god, and more depressing than any band to date. Think doom metal, but with lyrics that are sung instead of growled and music that doesn't follow the same chord progression and standards as every other band that seems to have fallen the way of Explosions in the Sky since Friday Night Lights hit the mainstream thinking terms like "atmospheric" and "spacey" are bywords for milking a single chord progression for over an hour.
We dedicate our music to aborted fetuses everywhere. They are great on toast. But we do love our mothers, and we don't put our elbows on the table when eating so you can take us home to your mothers.

Sounds Like: Anybody's music is made up of a lot of things that are not musical. Music is an attitude, a group of symbols of a way of life, whether you're conscious of it or not... and of course, it naturally reflects the social and economic and educational attitudes of the players. And that's why the fools don't think I play jazz.
