I did like many of the old "grunge" artists when that phase was hot. I especially am a fan of Nirvana, Green Day and Offspring.I HATE country music!
Ali, Gladiator, Something About Mary, The Original Kings of Comedy

The best book I have ever read is called "Wild At Heart" it is a must read for every man, or woman involved seriously with a man. I truly believe it bridges all that is wrong with men in this world to everything that a man can be. It is a psychological, sociological and spiritual look into the hearts and minds of all men. Why we act the way we do, how we need adventure, challenges and a maiden to rescue. It also explains the side of us we don't always feel proud of why we look at porn, why we treat women like crap, why we think we are more manly because we can drink more, carry a bigger Bible, know more about sports or have a bigger car. How all men are really nine year olds deep down inside. It also talks about our duty as fathers (or for some of us future fathers) and how many of our fathers created some of our deepest wounds. Just ask me about this book and I will go on for an hour!!Another book that I found very interesting and inspiring is the autobiography of Malcolm X. It could be said that Malcolm was the most mis-understood socio-political figure of the late 20th century. After reading his book and studying about him in a Civil Rights class, I was surprised at how humble this man truly was. Most people just know him as the fiery and mysterious Malcolm X. He had such a deep, deep passion to learn and in the book you see his transformation from country-bred negro to hustla, to the cutting mouthpiece for the Nation of Islam to his ultimate and final realization that much of what he taught under Elijah Muhammad had been wrong, eventually preaching a message of brotherhood of all men -- yet empowerment of blacks and the black community. The Alchemist is a great book to re-discover yourself and your dream in life.
I admire all these people and consider them heroes because they never/haven't given up on their dreams."the greatest tragedy in life is what dies inside a man while he is still alive."Brad Wolgamott, multi-millionaire/philathropist who has the biggest heart I know of. Spends his time and money working in the inner cities and with at-risk youth as well as empowering people all over the world to never give up on their dreams.Kevin Gerald -- my pastor, a man of incredible vision who doesn't hammer you over the head with the Bible. I always say I would attend his church even if I were an atheist because his teachings are so universal, practical and applicable to everyday life. He doesn't get caught up in all the rapture, end times nonsense but rather has a vision of a successful Christian church living their lives as examples -- instead of hypocrites -- of how biblical based principles (which I believe are largely universal) can enhance one's life spiritually, mentally, relationally, physically and socially.Caleb Walker -- I consider Caleb my best friend not in the sense that I hang out with him all the time but because he makes me a better person when I am around him. He is intense, but loose and I never get sick of talking or hanging out with him. He has so much knowledge and passion for life. He's open-minded yet firm in his beliefs. We don't agree on many things (especially a crook named Bush) but we always have thought provoking conversations.Malcolm X, Muhammad Ali and Martin Luther King Jr -- all made incredible sacrifices for the cause of Civil Rights. Malcolm for his empowerment of the black community and putting the man back into black men. I also like his economic vision of the black community and his non-reliance on the white man for handouts, and his uplifting of the black community begining with the criminals, pimps and drug dealers instead of relying on the black-bourgeoise. His image in the media was butchered many times simply because he was not in bed with the white politicians like some other Civil Rights leaders. Very few can match his passion and intensity. "By any means necesarry"Muhammed Ali -- I admire his child-like witty, humor and excitement that he displayed when he was winning. I also admire his defiance in the face of a racist government to become the most controversial, yet greatest sports figure of the 20th century and possibly ever.Martin Luther King jr -- his commitment to the Civil Rights struggle, his genius strategy in getting the attention of the mass media, his gracious, large heart for all people, his commitment to brotherhood and steadfast reliance on God.
