My BFA is in Fine Arts, drawing-and that seemed as good a place to start as any. I bounced around a bit after graduating, working odd (very odd) jobs and then returned to my home town of Madison, WI and found myself taking Japanese and Japanese history classes while working as a surly clerk in an indie-video store. Somehow I came to Japan to teach English four+ years ago. And this, in turn, brought me to belly dancing...yeah...I am also unsure of that jump... I keep waiting for my artistic and intellectual abilities to narrow arrow-style and point to a career path, but I doubt that will ever happen. I am now a teacher in an elementary school, teaching English to all grades and helping out in various other subjects (in Japanese). I write daily about my life, practice dance most nights, perform here and there, create costumes and trinkets and handbags and monsters on whim, still draw here and there ( but it’s been almost a year since I last showed my work at Las Chicas in Tokyo...or anywhere else) and I eat movies and books weekly.
I do most of my writting on: My live journal site and I do update far more often than is healthy.. but this exists to find a few folks.
And when I dance...my name is Ozma. Because I am a geek about childhood.
