festus versus

Named after the death of Nigerian immigrant Festus Okey, who was shot in the head!!? in a police station in Ä°stanbul, Festus Versus is against all unjust, prejudiced, and fascist acts.The band formed in September 2007 as a side project, since all of the band members had other main band projects or creatively artistic jobs. Rehearsing for 6 months, mostly on weekends, Festus Versus made their first appearance in late February 2008 at Peyote in Ä°stanbul.After completing four shows in Ä°stanbul (at Peyote and JokerBar) through June 2008, Festus Versus disbanded due to the unfortunate departure of guitarist/vocalist Tanya, who quit her teaching job in Ä°stanbul and went back to her Canadian homeland.Bora also left to pursue other musical interests along with playing in DDR.The remaining band members have decided to rock on with new guitarist Can (of local band Toz ve Toz) as Motorr Moose.Thanks for your support,Alper, Cihan & Jameson.Please also check: http://www.myspace.com/motorrmoose
