Born in South West Germany he got his first trumpet at the age of 9 and after a career in the brass band of the neighbouring town, he joined the schoolband. His first arrangements and compositions were Rock, Pop and Big Band. He took on occasional classical engagements, worked in musicals throughout Europe, and for many years made his living playing dance band gigs, which gave him invaluable experience in the art of pleasing an audience.
He studied jazz composition at the Music Academy in Cologne, and took on even more arrangement and production engagements, simultaneously working as a bandleader and conductor.
He began his career in film music in 1992 with the orchestration for the Academy nominated feature „Schtonk!“ and subsequently followed with a range of scores for prime time TV movies and series. In 1995 he took on a new direction, accepting an offer from Germany‘s largest broadcaster ZDF to redevelop the film music department there.
Over 150 films and a good nine years later, he traded in this occupation for a longstanding new challenge. He started working internationally, broadening his horizons as far as L.A and London, adapting his capabilities to every new project: Music Supervisor, Music Editor and Producer for German and international films, consultant, presenter, giving lectures, only to finally concentrate on writing his own music once again.

Geboren im Saarland. Seine erste Trompete bekommt er mit 9 und nach durchlaufener Karriere im nachbarörtlichen Musikverein steigt er mit 15 in die Schulband ein. Erste Arrangements und Kompositionen: Rock, Pop, Big Band. Der ein oder andere Klassikjob, Musical europaweit, vor allem aber lange Jahre Tanzmucke. Bringt anständiges Geld und unbezahlbare Erfahrung im Umgang mit Publikumsgeschmäckern.
Jazz-Kompositionsstudium an der Musikhochschule Köln, immer mehr Arrangements und Produktionsanfragen, gleichzeitig Bandleader und Dirigent.
Einstieg in die Filmmusik mit Orchestrationen für “Schtonk!†(1992).
Es folgen eigene Filmkompositionen: TV-Movies, wenig Serie. 1995 wechselt er die Rolle und nimmt das Angebot des ZDF an, die Filmmusikredaktion neu aufzubauen.
Über 150 Filme und knappe 9 Jahre später tauscht er das Redakteursleben gegen eine neue und alte Herausforderung ein. Er arbeitet in L.A. und London und setzt sich zu jedem Projekt den jeweils passenden Hut auf: er ist Music Supervisor, Music Editor und Musikproduzent für deutsche und internationale Filme, er berät, moderiert, hält Vorträge und Seminare, um sich schließlich wieder ganz seiner eigenen Musik zu widmen.
