If you ask Genesis what his first experience with hip hop felt like he will tell you “it was like love at first sight”. By the age of 8 Genesis was free styling and battling whoever felt that they could compete with the young child rapper. By the age 12 Genesis began writing songs and working on making himself a complete artist. Now a grown man still in the music scene Genesis has seen the ups and downs of the music business and does not plan to quit anytime soon.Genesis’ new album titled The Great Adventures of Genesis is now in the works and 2 singles have already been released to represent the album. The club hit “Banga” and the laidback hip hop/R&B hit “Whatever you want” can be heard and downloaded at www.myspace.com/thegreatadventuresofgenesis both of these tracks were written and produced by Genesis and have already started a buzz on myspace. Myspace Comments As a child from the West Indies my parents did not really have a full understanding of what was actually being said in HipHop music. Until I was already old enough to listen to it. So, I was fortunate enough to grow up to MC Shan, Run DMC, KRS-One, LL Cool J, Doug E Fresh, Rob Base, Slick Rick, Big Daddy Kane, EPMD, The Fu-Snickens, NWA, Eazy-E, Das EFX, and so on, from lyricist to greats. Not to say I'm that old or nothing. I was just hooked to this shit at a very young age. I began freestyling at that age of 8 and would critique each and every artist like a fan critiques his team, and by the time Biggie and Tupac came out they took hiphop to such a higher level that if you are a true hiphop fan. Turning on the radio now a days is like watching your favorite team catch an ass whooping. It sucks! Lyrically.
