Welcome to the bredaDOOM Myspace!
The idea for this fest originally started in Belgium, with young doomfanatic King.
He wanted to promote the small, but beautiful doomscene by organising a doom night in Ghent. Briefly after this decision was made, King met Ward, another doomfan, who lived in the city of Breda and plans began to form...
The organisation is based on the DIY-principle (Doom It Yourself). If we don't do it, no one will. After a few interactive meetings we decided to move the fest from Belgium to the Netherlands. Several bands were contacted, booked, cancelled, negotiations followed, things were being taken care of. We've established a co-operation with DOOM@dB's, another Dutch doomfest in Utrecht.
Thanks to all the support from several bands, bookers and enthousiastic supporters of the doomscene, we are now able to present this state of the art line-up:
ATARAXIE is an extreme Doom/Death Metal band from France (Rouen). Ataraxie plays a dark, oppressive, melancholic music, alternating slow and heavy passages with raging death metal blasts.
Main influences : My Dying Bride, Evoken, Shape Of Despair, Morgion, Thergothon, diSEMBOWELMENT, Morbid Angel and many more.
FAAL plays doommetal with blackmetal and (sometimes) postrock influences. They want to express different emotions in their music. The FAAL songs can be described as stories, and each story exists out of different ways of feeling. Because of this, each song has different atmospheres. From dark, depressive and sad, to uptight, energetic and full of rage, to even sometimes a little bit hopeful, but not for long...
Hailing from the depths of the Tilburg (NL) underground (home of Roadburn and ZXZW), Izah takes elements of doommetal, hardcore, noise and post-rock and blends these into a dark and melancholic mix of heavy riffing, dynamic sound layering and chaotic drumbattering. With a sound somewhere in between that of bands like Cult of Luna, Converge, Kruger, Mono and Shora, Izah is ready to storm the planet’s barriers.
Founded on a dark, cold and gloomy attic in the heart of winter of 2008, MARCHE FUNÈBRE started out with three, being Peter (lead guitar), Roel (bass) & Kurt (rhythm guitar). Now the pact was sealed the quest to find other musicians (drummer + singer) started. Drummers came and went as day turned into night. Meanwhile, singer Arne joined the ranks and not so much later, Dennis, a drummer completed the band.
