In the short term, I'm trying to make my self train for a 5K in April. I've been challenged, therefor I must step up and run 3.1 miles in under 20min...even though I haven't ran since Junior year of High School. Plus I need to keep lifting, otherwise I'll lose a lot of weight, which I dont' want to do.
I've also been trying to finish up my basement. Putting in a bathroom and a bar. It's going pretty good so far, but still seems like it will never end. But once it's done, it's going to be awesome!
Otherwise here's my story....
I grew in in a small town in the middle of IL. Had to take the bus 6 miles to school every day...until I finally got a car. Well not much later, moved but didn't want to change schools senior year, so I drove 15 miles each way. In high school played football (4 years) and ran track (3 years).
After high school, I decided (late) to go to McKendree College. Partly to play football, but mostly to get away from home and be near a bigger city. Decided that getting a Computer Science Degree in the St Louis region would be better than where I grew up. Lived in the dorms freshman year and played football where I made some great friends. Stopped playing football and instead got a job at Sports Authority (worked for 3+ years) where I also made some good friends. Worked in the computer lab at school for extra money while still being able to get some studying done. While in college, I started playing semi-pro football, because frankly I missed the game (and getting able to hit someone for fun). After graduation I got a job in StL at Boeing as a software engineer on the F-15 fighter jet (see, my plan worked out). I'm currently not playing football anymore, but I do play flag football, sand/indoor volleyball, and softball every once in a while. I recently bought a house and have my neighbor/best friend growing up Tiffany living with me while she's going to school at SUIE. I'm hoping to go back soon, probably to get my MBA at Wash U. I also would like to do some house improvements and finish my basement along with build a big patio for a hot tub and fire pit out back.
