RICH KID ACADEMY
YUNG CYSS is that rare artist that stands out above the rest. Repping the Bay Area, Ca, in the vein of artists before him that include Mac Dre, E-40, Yukmouth, Messy Marv and San Quinn, CYSS is destined to be the next great lyricist for the new generation of fans. With his status as an underground legend still in the making, he's set to make his major debut with the heavily anticipated Rich Kid Academyâ„¢ Records release the "Allumni Mixtape" Vol. 1.
Raised in the trenches of Sacramento and the Bay Area, CYSS recalls his earliest memories of music through his familys diverse record collection that included musical giants Barry White, Al Green and Prince. It was while writing bars and punchlines for friend's and aspiring artists that YUNG CYSS honed his lyrical abilities in the lunchroom, battling all comers. After taking his verbal ferocity out on the streets of California, the then teenage emcee was noticed by a now longtime friend, fellow artist and CEO of the RKA Empire, Dr. B. Soon after that pivotal moment, CYSS was soaking up game from some of raps biggest talents including P. Diddy, 50 Cent, Jay-Z, Cassidy, Mac Dre and E-40, whom he credits with making an indelible impression on him.
Since being brought in under the wing of Dr. B, CYSS has continued to keep his street buzz sizzling. But his latest success comes with "WHO", another street club banger produced by superproducer of FreQ Beats and the King of Hooks "Fedarro". "I could rap, make music and shine anywhere in this world. Any region, any coast, it don’t matter," he explains. "I have down South music, music for the ladies, music for people struggling, music for true Hip Hop lovers. In all honesty, I'm a rappers rapper, and I make music for everybody, because at the end of the day Im human. I go through the same things that everybody else goes through."
As the hip hop community and all of his fans know , CYSS is one of those artist that just seems to be that one big song away. But he still remains calm and collective like a true hustler should. "Making an album is comfortable - its like your diary," he continues. "You dont even have to talk some bullshit, you can talk what you go through."
YUNG CYSS knows that his musical vision will continue to grow, and his business mind will benefit from his experiences. In the long run, he would like to see the label prosper and bring in new talent. "I want Rich Kid Academyâ„¢ to evolve into a really open label," he explains. "We've got a sponsored Race Team and Skate team; both of them doing big things. It's not just a Bay Area movement," he stresses. "We've got cats from NY and a younghead from Philly named Tayyib who is beasting right now also."
"Whatever it is, I just want to give people chances, because labels arent giving people chances these days - you need a cosigner. Dr. B gave me that chance; I wanna be there to open the doors for other artists."
