PT Loren is an alternative singer/songwriter from
Helsinki, Finland.
The title, PT Loren, is also the name of the 4-piece band that
performs the songs that PT writes and produces.
"The PT Loren band" would perhaps be a more informative name for this
sort of group, but it was obvious from the very start, that this name
would not really suit the band's post-modern rock sound at all.
So just PT Loren it is!
The music combines elements from Alternative Rock, Metal and
Power-Pop, and is finalized to be what it is by adding some synthetic
sounds and vocal-loops to the mix in order to create a slight
industrial edge to it.
The band was formed in 2006 and consists of the following members:
-PT Loren (Vocals)
-Antti Mäntynen (Guitar)
-Anna Jaakkola (Bass)
-Mikko Pajunen (Drums)
The project to ultimately form the band PT Loren originally started in
2002 as a continuation to PT's previous band Innpeach, a Finnish rock
group which called it quits earlier the same year.
Innpeach released 2 albums, one through a major-label, the other
through an independent one.
Innpeach played some 100 shows, had several songs and videos in
rotation in the Finnish mainstream media and has still some cult
status in Finland.
In October 2007 PT Loren released an untitled, self-produced and
-engineered online EP containing the songs "Enough is enough of the
blues", "Go away and "Don't look down", all which are written by mr.
PT Loren.
With the above EP released by the artist itself, PT Loren has so far
gained a fair amount of success online, but also gotten recognition as
a live act worthy to go see.
Being a rather new act, all bets are still off, but the fanbase has
most certainly grown drastically over a rather short period of time.
We'll see..
