About Me

Jack Howard (Jack Loves Robots), started DJ'ing at the age of 18 whilst studying fine art at Winchester School of Art. Breaking all boundaries, Jack set up his first night 'Erotica' which soon became a haven for fascinating and colourful partygoers. After running the night for 4 years Jack handed over the reigns to long-term friend and DJ Paul Dazley, who continued the twisted vibe for the next 3 years. “Last time I was there Paul had booked Terry Francis to play who was at that time my favourite DJ” said Jack.In 1996, Jack was invited to design the promotional material for ‘Greenham Underground Sound House’ (GUSH) on Greenham Common Airbase in Newbury. The nights, Drop the Bomb and Gush were synonymous to the underground sounds of the time. Jack immersed himself in the broad range of musical talents encompassed in this 10,000 capacity sonic wonder, which still influences his sound today.Moving a year later to Brighton, Jack gained 3 residencies and designed décor in ‘The Honey Club’ (Sundazed), ‘The BN1 Club’ and ‘Club New York’. Jack also had regular slots at ‘Volks Tavern’ and various bars around Brighton.Jack predominantly played hard house and techno nights but preferred to play the warmer sounds of deep house, tech house and the Detroit techno. His main residency was playing in the chill out room of a night called ‘Sundazed’ at ‘The Honey Club’. This was a perfect venue for Jack’s style and he soon became renowned for playing quality music with his fellow DJ’s.‘Sundazed’ was a weekly night run by Hayze L Nutty an experienced promoter who Jack eventually started co-promoting with and creating backdrops and sculptures for the various nights they worked together on. Flyer design also became a second income utilising Jack’s previous skills from ‘Gush’.After a stint of travelling Jack moved back to Reading and started up his own night called ‘Liquid Sound Lounge’ (later to become ‘Liquid Sound Lab’).He started his experimental night at ‘Bar 38’ and quickly gained notoriety for playing quality deep house and tech house. After building up a healthy following, Jack decided to take his music to a more appropriate venue, ‘Plug ‘n’ Play’ - a recording/photography studio by day and a celebrated cult club by night. Together with his co-promoter Joseph (Super Bleep), they formed a unique fusion of dub, live funk, drum & bass, hip-hop, break beat, tech, minimal and electro house. This varied music policy became loved by many and created an unrivaled atmosphere for eclectic partygoers.Jack has currently put DJ’ing aside to create his own music. Taking influences from his diverse catalogue of styles he intertwines retro with contemporary. Jack uses his beloved Roland JP-8000 with various soft synths and effects on his Apple Mac Pro. He is currently working on a number of tracks to incorporate into a live set and is constantly looking for ways to evolve his music.Jack’s web site is currently under construction but endeavours to use this as a means of keeping people up to date with his forthcoming music and art when live.
