We (Kaitlyn’s mom and dad) have setup this site to help you, her fans, keep up with the latest in the life of Kaitlyn and our family. For those of you unfamiliar with Kaitlyn, the past year has consisted of so many incredibly rewarding and life-changing events, beginning with her run through “America’s Got Talent” to the Top 10 through so many opportunities since then, a few of which are detailed below in Kaitlyn’s Electronic Press Kit (EPK). Consider this like a Cliff Notes version of Kaitlyn’s past year! More of her story continues below, including:
* America’s Got Talent journey
* Lighting of the National Christmas Tree performance for President Bush
* Upcoming Disney movie
* Harris Teeter commercial
* Today Show and Access Hollywood guest appearances
* Soon-to-be released CD
* AND MUCH, MUCH MORE!!
But first, check out her Electronic Press Kit (EPK) below (you'll want to pause the music player above to view the video):
Kaitlyn loves to sing. She has never had any voice lessons, but ever since she was a vibrant one year old she has sung everything from Christmas carols to songs in church to patriotic songs familiar to all. She particularly enjoys singing in the Children's Choir at her church (Christian Fellowship Church). Yet even before she was old enough to sing in the children’s choir, she made her unexpected debut on the stage of “America’s Got Talent.” The producers had found a clip of her singing the “Star Spangled Banner” when she was three years old taken from a home video and posted on YouTube for some distant relatives to see (video posted further down… don’t miss it!). The producers then approached us about having Kaitlyn audition for the show. Initially skeptical – again, she was only four and had never performed on a stage before in her life! – we talked with Kaitlyn about the opportunity and she was ecstatic to try it. Anyone who knows her understands how incredibly fearless she is! Well, we went to New York City for her first audition, she sang “Somewhere Out There,” and… well, watch the following video does a much better job of describing how well she did:

As you can imagine, we were amazed at how things progressed! From NYC, she advanced to the Las Vegas rounds where she sang “When You Wish Upon a Star.”

Again Kaitlyn defied the odds by advancing to the LIVE Hollywood rounds where she made it through the Top 40 singing “What a Wonderful World”…
***(Kaitlyn’s live Hollywood performance for “America’s Got Talent”, September 3, 2008)***
… through the Top 20 singing “Beauty and the Beast”…
***(Kaitlyn’s live Hollywood performance for “America’s Got Talent”, September 10, 2008)***
… all the way through to the Top 10 singing “I’ll Be There” before her time as a contestant finished.

However, her innocence, infectious personality, and adorable voice prompted the show’s producers to invite her back to perform on the season Finale.

Needless to say, Kaitlyn’s time on “America’s Got Talent” was amazing! She had a blast, as you’ll see from the pictures we’ve posted of her experiences with the judges, contestants, and fans alike. Everyone who meets her would agree that she has a refreshing passion for life! She enjoys singing, dancing, swimming, games, puzzles, playing with her daddy, reading with her mommy, and smothering her baby brother with kisses! Kaitlyn is also an avid reader. She learned to read at 2 years old and her favorite books include Bible stories, American Girl books, Charlotte's Web, Fairy Tales, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, mysteries, and anything to do with Disney princesses!
Now five years old, Kaitlyn is proof that you are never too young or too old to follow your dreams. Since the show, she has performed for the President at the White House, starred in a commercial, performed for 40,000 people at a time at major sporting events, headlined concerts for U.S. soldiers, and will be in an upcoming Disney movie (“Santa Buddies”… part of the “Air Bud” series of movies) coming out during the 2009 holiday season. She is most excited about her debut CD set for release early Fall 2009, which will include a few songs that Kaitlyn co-wrote – yes, she’s also interested in song writing!
For your enjoyment, we’ve posted below some of the additional performances mentioned above.
