ARABESK TROUPE (AT) is one of the oldest Middle East Dance Companies in Portugal, founded in 2002 by REGINA NURENAHAR. The Company AT has ten dancers, trained by their teacher and choreographer REGINA NURENAHAR (founder of Arabesk - Studio Hindu-Arabic Culture in 1998). Over the past 8 years, the AT's dancers were selected precisely for their excellent, performance, dedication and spirit of unity. Since 2002, they travel and develop a work of research and study of the various styles of Arabic Dance, from many countries and subcultures from North Africa, focusing their attention from Middle East to India, through the rhythms, costumes, an entire culture, their own language, involving the recreation of all the alchemy of Oriental Dance, in common with the aim of perpetuating the art whose birthplace is the ancient civilization of Egypt. Arabesk Troupe aim is bringing Eastern Dance (Raqs al Shark) to public, making it a spectacle worthy of the greatest stages and subtracting its less honourable connotations of its country of origin. The show that could reach up to 2 hours of duration is a showcase of all aspects of Oriental Dance, from the classic style, through folklore with roots in various countries of Middle East, Maghreb, to its newest style, the Oriental Tribal, "AMERICAN TRIBAL STYLE" and its contemporary fusion. In their performances, the Company is accompanied by 2 musicians, drummers that reproduce the magic of Arabian rhythms and they have already more than fifty performances in recent years, almost all of them in Portugal, except for a recent call that resulted in a modest but brilliant performance in England, Glastonbury, one of the oldest and flagship World Festival of Dance, which gave us the opportunity to show the best of Oriental Dance in Portugal.

ARABESK TROUPE (AT), é uma das mais antigas Companhias de Danças do Médio Oriente em Portugal, fundada em 2002 pela Prof. REGINA NURENAHAR. A Companhia AT é composta por um corpo de dez bailarinas, formadas pela Profª. e coreografa REGINA NURENAHAR (fundadora do Arabesk – Estúdio de Cultura Hindu-arábica em 1998). Ao longo dos últimos 8 anos, as bailarinas da Companhia AT, foram seleccionadas com rigor pelo seu excelente desempenho, performance, dedicação e espírito de união. Desde 2002 que viajam e desenvolvem em grupo, um trabalho de pesquisa e estudo dos vários estilos das danças árabes, oriundas de vários países e subculturas desde o Norte de África, incidindo mais no Médio Oriente até a Índia, através dos ritmos, dos trajes, toda uma cultura, o próprio idioma, recriando toda a envolvência e alquimia da Dança Oriental, com o objectivo em comum de perpetuar esta arte cujo berço é a milenar civilização do Egipto. Levar a Dança Oriental (Raqs al Shark) ao conhecimento do público, transformando-a num espectáculo digno dos maiores Palcos e subtraindo-lhe conotações menos honrosas especuladas no seu país de Origem. O Espectáculo que poderá atingir até 2h de duração, é uma mostra de todos aspectos da Dança Oriental, desde o estilo clássico, passando pelo folclore com raiz em vários países do Médio Oriente, Magrebe, até ao seu estilo mais recente, o Oriental Tribal, “AMERICAN TRIBAL STYLE” e sua fusão contemporânea. Nas suas actuações, a Companhia é acompanhada por 2 músicos, percussionistas que reproduzem a magia dos ritmos árabes e contam já com mais de meia centena de actuações nestes últimos anos, quase todas em Portugal, com excepção para um convite recente que resultou numa modesta mas brilhante actuação em Inglaterra, Glastonbury, num dos mais antigos e emblemáticos Festivais de Danças do Mundo, onde nos deram oportunidade de mostrar o que de melhor se vai fazendo pela D.O. em Portugal.
