About Me

URALSURF is a small town, all natural, "ALL GREEN" clothing provider that promotes a positive and innovative product for a bright and better future. Our soul grown ocean inspired product frees the body with the all natural woven fibers from bamboo, hemp and organic cottons, we also use soy and water based inks. URAL is the other half of natural, or the ending result of truly being natural as some would say. URAL is dissected from the root word natural. (NAT URAL) = URAL , No harsh chemicals and no animal testing. All natural "ALL GREEN"! our goal is to enhance the soul grown ocean inspired spirit of place we call home, our product 100% natural, 100% grown from U.S crops stimulating the economy one leaf at a time. Welcome to green welcome to Ural. " SOUL GROWN AND OCEAN INSPIRED" this philosophy is the foundation that ural was built on, mixing the two elements to inspire our motives of creating a green product influenced by a surfing style. this common ground, has become a mind set as well as a way of life. free your body, free your mind and enjoy everything.
Is rough on the environment. Cotton is the largest crop behind corn in the United States and consumes 10% of the world's pesticides (that's two billion pounds) and 25% of the world's insecticides (we don't know what that weighs but it's a lot). Cotton growers typically use many hazardous chemicals including aldicarb, phorate, methamidophos and endosulfan. There are at least 20 types of organophosphate and carbamate pesticides, many of which were originally developed as toxic nerve agents during World War II. These chemicals harm people, wildlife and the environment. In addition, conventional cotton requires a tremendous amount of water to grow: 106,000 cubic feet of water per acre. That's a lot of water.
Cotton and water. The two usually go hand in hand, but organic cotton is usually rain-fed, not irrigated, so it uses a lot less water. Organic cotton, as you probably know, is grown without the use of pesticides and insecticides. How is this done? Farmers use composted manures and cover-crops to replace synthetic fertilizers. Innovative weeding strategies are used instead of herbicides. Beneficial insects and trap-crops are used to control pests. Nature's frost and water inducement prepare plants for harvest, instead of using toxic defoliants. We like organic cotton. I like the philosophy of organic. What exactly is organic clothing? It's clothing that has materials that were put into it the same way they came out of the ground. When the cotton is growing, we don't douse it with chemicals you can't pronounce, we don't try to kill off every living creature that might alight on it. We let it grow up like a child, find its way in the world, then pluck it, weave it and bring it to you, so you can put it on and know that the world is not run by evil corporations that don't care about you or me. We care about you. Sometimes we remember to care about ourselves in between making your organic clothing for you. Bamboo is a grass, and grows like a weed. In fact, it's the fastest growing plant on the planet. It can grow up to three feet in a day. It doesn't need help from pesticides or insecticides, and it usually grows on rain water. Just think of the strength, power and self-sufficiency of this crop. If all this excitement has you feeling faint, don't worry, bamboo generates more oxygen than trees. The pulp from bamboo is ground up, and the fibers are spun into yarn. The resulting fabric (or t-shirt in this case) is great. Softer than cotton, with superior performance, bamboo wicks moisture, keeps you cooler, and is naturally antimicrobial so it doesn't retain odors. The benefits of bamboo are abundant. Because bamboo grows so quickly, it is a resource that is not only sustainable, but also gives back to the environment. Beyond the environment, there are many benefits for the people wearing bamboo t-shirts. The material you are wearing is fed by rain. Just rain. Your shirt didn't need to be bathed with water resources we can't afford. It wasn't saturated with pesticides or fertilizers. It grew naturally, with the sun, the rain, the stars and the moon. Not only that, but everything about your shirt is natural; it's 100%, not 99%, biodegradable. You won't smell. That's not a guarantee we can make about you in general, but when it comes to you and our bamboo t-shirt, we promise we won't be the cause of any of your odor woes. Bamboo has anti-bacterial properties which inhibit body odor. Bamboo t-shirts wick away moisture and have double the absorbency of cotton. When you wear a bamboo t-shirt, you stay dry, and your aromas are pulled away from your body and released into the air Our bamboo t-shirts are fuss-free. Ural surf, bamboo t-shirts are pre-washed, so you won't have to worry about it shrinking. Just toss it in your washer, your dryer and back on your body. With Ural surf bamboo t-shirts you can be assured your shirt will look and feel like a million bucks.
Industrial hemp is also a grass and grows like a weed, because it is one. Like bamboo, it doesn't need any help to thrive. It has no need for pesticides or insecticides, and it grows on rain water. Like bamboo, it offers superior performance compared to cotton: hemp fibers are more durable, provide better UV protection, wick moisture, and are anti-microbial. (Please note that industrial hemp differs from its illegal cousin, marijuana, in that it contains almost no THC, the substance that gets you high). Until the late 1930s, hemp was widely grown and was America's fiber of choice. Popular Mechanics, in February 1937, predicted hemp would be the world's first "Billion Dollar Crop" that would support thousands of jobs and provide a vast array of consumer products from dynamite to plastics. Hemp is technically superior to cotton for fabric, trees for paper, and corn for biofuel. The first draft of our constitution was written on hemp paper, and George Washington grew hemp on his land. How did America come to favor cotton and trees over hemp, when hemp is superior in so many ways? Hemp is technically superior to cotton: hemp fibers are more durable, provide better UV protection, wick moisture, and are anti-microbial.
Hemp and marijuana are two different things, but it's pretty amazing that you can pull a plant out of the ground and wear it. I mean there is some work between the pulling and the wearing, but we take care of all that for you. What you get is the highest quality of comfortable clothing, like wearing those old boxers with the holes in them that you should have thrown away years ago but never got around to doing. Our hemp clothing will be like that, but without the holes since it's a super strong fabric.(enjoy).
