About Me

AN INVITATION FROM DANNY CROOKS....
Hi y’all…It's that time of the year again for a get together for all the people that loved STEAMBOAT. This year we are doing it for HAAM. I couldn't think of a better group to do it for this year. As most of you know, A.J. Vallejo had a serious medical problem this year and HAAM helped him out a lot.
Our line up this year is spectacular. Doors are at 3:00 and music starts at 3:30. Starting off the festivities will be RHYTHM CHILD which is a reunion show (as most of the bands playing this year are). I called Paul Renna and asked him if he would be interested in getting the band back together for one more show. He said “I'll call all the guys and see." Two hours later, "He said we’re in and excited as hell.”
Next up is THE ALICE ROSE. They started playing Steamboat when Chris was 12, Jodee was 13 and Sean was 14. Back then they were called PigGieHat and then changed their name to the Alice Rose in 2000. Their second CD just came out and it is great I must say.
DAVID GARZA is next on the reunion show. In the nineties, he was caled Dah-Veed and that will be the returning line-up for this show featuring David, Micheal and John. I cant wait.
Then VALLEJO is going to rock the joint. I've always loved these guys and all their days at Steamboat were fun for me. Alex and I still play the video game ‘Twisted Metal’ about once a week and talk about the good old days.
Next up is MC OVERLORD who will be doing a few songs during Vallejo’s set. MC started sitting in at Steamboat in the early nineties with The Bizness and just kept getting better and better. He put his own band together and has won “hip hop artist of the year” ten times in a row.
Then next on the bill as another amazing reunion, is LITTLE SISTER who later changed their name to Sister 7. They won the “best show of the year” in The Austin Chronicle one year that was listed as Little Sister’s last Black Cat show at the Steamboat. If you remember that night…you weren't there.
Finishing up the night is JOHNNY GOUDIE. Johnny started out at the Steamboat as Mr. Rocket Baby and they also won “band of the year” that month. He later started The Johnny Goudie Band and traveled the world. His band now is called the Little Champions and they will bring the show to an end. What a great night it will be.
I hope to see you there. Have a wonderful day….have a wonderful life. I love you all.
