The Connection Performing Arts Center is the newest Hip Hop dance studio to hit the Northwest! We’ve spent countless hours building a studio where each individual dancer can get what they are looking for in dance. No matter what your age is or your level of experience and commitment, we will provide you with the best in Hip Hop, Tap, Jazz, Ballet, even Ballroom! We pride ourselves in our dancers, and making sure they are trained properly in each class. We have created a place where dancers can call home! Heidie Sharpe and Kolanie Marks co-founded “The Dance Connection†in hopes to keep the dance scene alive in our area. Seattle has seen many dancers come and go, and we want to make sure we keep that pattern alive! We want to see our dancers accomplishing their goals.
Heidie Sharpe dreamed of creating a place for all ages, where respect and acceptance lead the way to freedom of expression through dance, art, theater, music and film. With a passion to find ways to incorporate her love of dance with the ever growing use of multi-media, The Connection provides its students with the opportunity to create their own music as well as cut videos and short films. In doing so, Heidie brings a facet to The Connection which other studios don’t provide. She also strives to have an incredibly talented group of instructors available to her students.
Kolanie Marks is an experienced Hip Hop Choreographer. He’s performed and opened for tons of artist, such as Jon B, Koffee Brown, David Hollister, Russell Simmons, and many more…. He is the founder of Phyzikal Graffi-T, which is one of Washington’s top Hip Hop Groups. When he is not teaching at all of the major dance studio’s in the greater Seattle area, he is traveling around the globe teaching workshops to hundreds of dancers. Together Heidie and Kolanie will dedicate their time and passion in to making sure their studio is the one-stop-shop FOR DANCERS!!!!
