JAFO

well, im a 37 yr old metalhead. Have 2 sons; Derek -14, and Josh-12. I have been playing bass now for about 6 years, and rythym guitar for 10 years before. I switched to bass out of the need/lack of bass players in the area. I should have been on bass all along. I love music, all kinds. I am a metalhead by rights. I was part of the hair metal, but my roots are in southern rock and blues. When i was a kid I used to watch and listen to my uncle's band CROSSTOWN TRAFFIC practice at my grandmothers home. I knew at that time that i was gonna play some kind of instrument and that i was destined to play for the world. Now my kids are watching and listening to me play, Derek is a bass/guitar player and Josh is just now getting interested in it. Derek surprises me every weekend with something new that he has learned or wrote. And Josh is a very quick learner. I try to teach my boys that music is not only something that you listen to, it is a way of life. It is an extension, an outlet, and a best friend. Ive been in numerous bands in the area. CATBOX, FAULT LIES, BACKWOODS, SCRATCH, NEMESIS, BROKEN, ANUBIS and just joined S.T.DIO!! a DIO tribute band!!! and a handful of gatherings that never got out of the basement.
