About Me

Plot Against Paris was born out of a punk-rock band called Fargo in Fall 2005. John, Chris and Jim have played together for nearly five years and have known each other for many years more. As Fargo, the trio switched back and forth between instruments until the present line up was settled with the formation of Plot Against Paris. John Layton, bass and vocals, Chris Minton, guitar and Jim Arnold, drums and percussion. Over the years the band's sound has changed and matured as they have grown together as both people and musicians. Their sound now has been described as pop punk/emo/indie rock....quite a hybrid! And the band are constantly developing and growing...

Sounds Like:
"The best-looking gang in town pull off emo with a style and sophistication that shames their peers." - NME Magazine, July 15th 2006

"Heard about Plot Against Paris.....started off a bit QOTSA-ish and settled down into a set of heavy Doves-type riffs - tight and clean all the way.....winners of the day.....deservedly booked a place in the upcoming Marrs Bar Battle of the Bands heats and a support slot at the Barfly in Birmingham." - Andy O'Hare, BBC Hereford and Worcester, April 2006

"If you're looking for the UK's version of The Starting Line, look no further...big, all-singing, all-dancing choruses...Plot Against Paris have plenty of promise...they do have all the right elements for this kind of music - the songs are there, the structures solid and the production is decent too...'Pure Bravado' is possibly the best track here, showing Plot Against Paris have plenty of promise - some spit and polish honing their mistakes could make them a decent prospect indeed." - Paul at Punktastic, August 2006

"Roll Up - We love this track, which is punchy from the start. Plot Against Paris perform with bag loads of energy and confidence. Though together for less than a year, this Worcester trio’s sound is clearly defined." - In-Sync Magazine, September 2006

"Starts off with a bang, the vocals are big and out there, the rhythm really draws you in and instantly makes you want to move…..colossal sound of raging guitars and rumbling drums…..The vocals are superb alongside the backing instruments, there's a lot of force and drive there…..The variation in tempo is arranged really well…..the best thing is that there isn't a song on here you'd skip over….Boys will dig them because they rock out & girlies will dig them because their gorgeous boys who play in a wicked band! I can only expect that with this much talent….they will only keep getting better and better…..on my I-Pod these songs go! I highly recommend checking them out!" - Kizzy H @ Infused, October 2006

"Plot Against Paris are a catchy band that have songs that make you want to bounce along to every word....‘Capo Del Monte’ is a catchy sing along number with a killer chorus that was made to be played in front of a live crowd and I’m sure will be well received pretty much everywhere these guys play. The other main highlight is ‘Pure Bravado’ which contains some great vocals and the stops and starts work brilliantly....All in all this self-titled EP is a great start for Plot Against Paris and I really do look forward to seeing what this band come up with next....catch them at a venue near you soon because these three guys obviously love what they do and I don’t think it’ll be too long til everyone catches on too." - Andy, pep-rock.com

"A mighty fine release from this Worcester post-hardcore troupe. Fusing the staccato might of Hot Rod Circuit to the infectious melodic bent of New Found Glory’s earlier works. The songs are impressively strong throughout this 4 track EP, with melodies that will haunt you forever more…" - Jeremy Chick, Editor-In-Chief, Subba-Cultcha
