Catra Applebottoms and Sugartits Hordak met whilst "serving" people on Dr. Marta's Revolution, a street dance-crew founded in 1982. They bonded over their mutual love of the movie "Cool Runnings" and 18th century chick lit, and, in 1991, started modeling prom dresses for Sears & Roebucks Co.
Catra got caught up in the dark underbelly of the catalog modeling world, developing a serious pseudephedrine and nasal spray habit. For Sugartits it was caffeine pills, after watching that one episode of Saved by the Bell where Jessie Spano is so scared, Zach. Sugartits left the dance crew and the fast-paced world of prom-dresses in 1994 after a traumatic dance battle left her in a coma for 8 years. Meanwhile Catra moved on to become a Fly Girl on the British television programme "In Living Colour".
The girls lost touch but reunited when Sugartits' band, Champagnie and Lacey, opened for Catra's Sherlock Jones and the Arc Enemies on a 2003 tour of Canadia. While in Calgary everybody in both bands came down with a fatal case of butt cramps. Catra and Sugartits found that punching each other in the buttocks actually cures fatal butt cramps, or FBS. But O! it was too late for their friends, who all tragically died, and in whose memory buttpunch was formed.
