Tisha Stratford is an upcoming female Contemporary Gospel/R&B Artist that is destined to revolutionize gospel’s impact on today’s youth and “music savvy†adults. Her powerful voice and musical style that fuses R&B, Dance/Techno, Pop and classic Gospel is a refreshing addition to the today’s Gospel Music.
Although this may be your first time hearing of her, she is not new to Gospel Music. Her parents and pastors, brought their 4 children up to be rooted in God, Church and ‘Bumpin’ Gospel Music. “Some of my early influences were The Hawkins Family, The Clark Sisters, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Rance Allen, and The Winans, just to name a few. Every Saturday we would sit in front of our entertainment system and have tambourine Jam-Sessions. I have always loved music that was on the cutting-edge of gospel, and had a message and a rhythm that made you want to dance.†she states.
Tisha has since recorded 2 Demo CD projects, and worked with such gospel artists as Fred Hammond, Shirley Caesar, Beau Williams, Greg O’Quin. and Surel. She has been a featured artist on 411 Magazine Praise Show on Daystar Television, 97.5 Radio, Gospel Fest at the Bass Hall, and Christ for the Nations Institute. She serves as Director of Christian Arts, Choir Director, and Director of the Praise Dance Team at her home church. “I love worshiping God, through various art- forms. Whether it’s through a play He gives me to write, a song, or a choreographed dance routine, God is worthy to be praised in an excellent and majestic way. I guess one can say I’m an all-around Entertainer for the Lord†she jokes.
Tisha expresses, “I am inspired by, and so thankful for artists like Mary Mary, Kirk Franklin, Fred Hammond, Karen Clark-Sheard, Deitrick Haddon and Damita Haddon, and Joann Rosario. To follow in the foot-steps of such artists, would truly be a dream come true.
The former Grand Prairie Beauty Pageant Winner is blessed with a presence and appearance that has enthralled audiences across the nation. She is currently writing and recording her next project. She is seeking a recording contract.
