Tartan Clef Music Awards 2008 - Winners AnnouncementSaturday 22nd November 2008Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy in Scotland is proud to announce the winners of the 10th annual Tartan Clef Music Awards.
The glittering, rock ‘n’ roll music awards ceremony, hosted by Jay Crawford of Real Radio and sponsored by the SECC, was held at The Old Fruitmarket in Glasgow on Saturday 22nd November.
This prestigious annual ceremony saw fantastic live performances from artists including The Fratellis, Sharleen Spiteri, Dougie MacLean, Eddi Reader, The Almighty and Hue & Cry. There was also an extra special surprise in store for guests as top comedian, Peter Kay took to the stage and surprised pal, Sharleen Spiteri as he presented her the outstanding contribution award.It was a particularly memorable night for charity supporters as Chairman of Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy in Scotland, Dr John Ferguson Smith recently stepped down after seven years of fantastic work and Donald MacLeod & Heather Gardner took up the post. It was also an emotional ceremony for Programme Director of GMG Radio Scotland, Jay Crawford as it was his last year as host of the awards.
The Tartan Clef Music Awards 2008, Scotland's one and only event which recognises the very best in Scottish music across the board, raised £93,000 for the charity.
