About Me

I play the lever harp (Clarsach/Celtic harp) and have done for just over 15 years. Originally from Glasgow, I spent some time in New York and Belfast before moving to Liverpool in 2004. I compose and perform original compositions for lever harp with spoken-word and multi-media pieces. I often work in collaboration with other artists and musicians. In 2008 I composed the harp score to the new performance poem by Liverpool poet Eleanor Rees - Eliza and the Bear (text performed by Cathy Butterworth - first presented at the Chapter & Verse Literature Festival at The Bluecoat, Liverpool in October 2008) - and we are touring the piece around some lovely places throughout 2009. I also write plays and have had two professionally produced to date - Danger: Hollow Sidewalk (Glasgow, The Arches 2006) and Last Child (Glasgow, The Arches 2001; NYC, HERE 2002). I am currently developing a new written work (The Tiger Act), which received a rehearsed reading in Liverpool in December 2008. I was recently made Musician/Composer in Residence at Metal Liverpool for 2009/10. My first EP of original compositions and spoken-word, The Mystery Workshop is available now. xGet MySpace Layouts from nUCLEArcENTURy .COM OR create your own using MySpace profile editor !!!
