ABOUT THE AUTHORS:GRACE BOYD: Grace Bradley Boyd had a flourishing movie career prior to marrying William Boyd in 1937, appearing in 35 films before retiring from the screen to be his fulltime wife and partner. An inseparable couple, they shunned the social politics of Hollywood, remaining steadfastly devoted to each other as Hopalong Cassidy took Boyd to unparalleled fame. After his death in 1972, Grace chose not to re-marry, opting instead to immerse herself in the study and teaching of T’ai Chi Ch’uan, oil painting and extensive volunteer work. Still residing in southern California and now in her mid-90s, she continues to enjoy a full and active life.

THE COCHRAN BROTHERS: Missouri brothers Russ and Michael Cochran first collaborated on The West Plains Gazette, a magazine launched in 1978 that went on to receive the nation’s highest award for documentation and preservation of local history. Their 2001 book, Chet Atkins-Me and My Guitars, co-written by Michael and guitar great Chet Atkins, was hailed by Guitar Player magazine as “possibly the greatest guitar book ever written.†Working next with inventive genius Les Paul, their 2005 publication, Les Paul-In His Own Words, received similar accolades. Both books are now in their second printing. Their latest project, Hopalong Cassidy-An American Legend, is now being considered for production as a major motion picture.
