I have always loved singing about the blessing of God and the Goodness of Jesus Christ. Ohhh but let me tell ya!! God gave me a new song to sing!! That new song came by way of his Healing Grace!! As A Cancer Survivor, I can now say from my own personal experience that God Is A Healer!!!! I have been Living Cancer Free For One Year!! I am trusting God for many, many, many more Cancer Free years are in My Life's Path. Although I live in Southern California now, I am still a True Chicago Girl!!! I've been married for five years to a wonderful, caring, supportive man. As a True Chicagoan, it's hard to believe that I've been in Cali almost ten years. (Yep, it's true what they say:Time fly's when your having fun). Chicago is where I fell completely in love with Gospel Music.I first started singing in the church choir when I was about six. It was said, I was one of those kids that had a big, squalling "grown folks" voice. At fourteen, my pastor insisted I be put in the eighteen and over adult choir, as a lead singer. At sixteen, I began directing the choir as well. I sang in my high school chorus and was selected as a member of the Chicago All City Chorus.As my passion for gospel music grew stronger, at seventeen, I auditioned and became a member of Rev Milton Brunson and The Thompson Community Singers, aka the Tommies. I toured with the Tommies for eleven years. I was a lead singer and directed as well. Shortly after moving to Cali, I became the choir director of my present church's choir, Golgotha Trinity Mass Choir.As for my recording, writing and all of that...... It was not until after being diagnosed with cancer in 2006, God really showed me that I had the gift of writing lyrics and melodies. So.... I got with some producers, and hence, came the songs you are currently listening to. The titles/lyrics that God gave me, speak to the fact that:1. When it's someone's time and season, celebrate with them, and they'll celebrate with you. 2. It doesn't matter where you go are where you've been Jesus He aint tripping he just wants to be your friend.3. I Know who blessed my day and made a way for me.4. For God's sake, don't you know He loves you?5. I wrote, "I'll Trade A Life Time" in memory of my God Niece Brittiana Henderson; who was my singing buddy. In the mist of her own pain, she visited me while I was in the hospital. She would say to me, "Auntie Chellena you're going to be just fine."She lost her battle to cancer one year ago, at the tender age of thirteen. I was blessed to be holding Britt Britt in my arms as she transitioned to Heaven. Oh, how we all miss her so. Hope you guys enjoy listening to my dedication to her.
