BIOGRAPHY
Mike Aka Dj eM, is one of Melbourne’s biggest up and coming multiple styles Dj. Mikes career started around 9 years ago with nothing more than a little mixer & some old turntables. Through practice & patience this eventuated into his own mobile dj business. Mike found himself playing at parties & all types of functions across Melbourne for a few years. Mike’s musical styles have ranged all the way from R & B and Hip/Hop, to House/Electro, all the way to Banging Hardstyle.
Not long after turning 18 he found himself playing the Nightclub scene and has now played a huge number of venues around Melbourne such as, Glasshouse, Club 169, Pulse Nightclub, The Palace, Madisons Bar, Twister Nightclub, Casey’s Nightclub, HSD, The Joint, Glacier Nightclub, Area 61, Traffik Nightclub, F4, Bar Altitude, Volt and Malibu Bar, Motel, The Grand Hotel, Cushion Lounge, Toorak Lion Hotel to name a few. Also Various Pubs and Bars including the Stanford Hotel, Mckillop’s Bar, Diva Bar, Kittens and also various events such as the St. Kilda festival and so on.
Mikes decision to form his first company a few years after became the well known “Electro Rockerz†in 2006 with Luke Folvig and Steve Lakatos. Since Electro Rockerz was formed they have worked all around Melbourne playing in various clubs, pubs and bars. The Electro Rockerz formed a massive MySpace which quickly became the number 1 MySpace in Australia for the number of “plays per day†of their music at the time which exceeded 10,000 per day! Mike (Dj eM) was nothing short of the person behind most of the earlier Electro Rockerz remixes along with the younger upcoming member Steve Lakatos aka Dj Lako jumping on board creating his own remixes after being tought by Mike. As Electro Rockerz played together they made quite a big status as an upcoming group in the House/Electro scene, not only as dj’s but also in music remixing and production. Mike was constantly coming up with amazing electro remixes of R & B and commercial tracks making him a one of a kind crowd favorite everywhere he appeared. A few of Mikes remixes have been played on radio on the Friday night shows on the fox & Saturday Night shows on Nova. Unfortunately late 2007 saw the “Electro Rockerz†members separate and go their own ways.
Not very long afterwards, Mike along with his friend Andy aka “Groove Freak†teamed up and took on some brand new challenges that lead to the birth of GROOVE EMPIRE. A new company teaming up with Groove Freak, who’s hosted multiple House/Electro nights across Melbourne, but also with fellow friend Damien Ikin aka ‘D Stylez†the owner and manager of BPM Entertainment. His company alone boasts over 30 residencies throughout Melbourne and surrounding suburbs!
All together they were “Groove Empire,†specializing in House Electro events, promotions, running House/Electro nights at a number of nightclubs. Groove Empire was a huge force in the Nightclub and Entertainment industry. This amazing team of experienced dj’s constantly attracting audiences from all over, and wowing them with their fantastic performances.
Mike’s Hard Style career came to be through his love of Harder styles of music which saw him become a resident at HSD (Hard Style Dance) in which he grew as a performer and entertainer along with the new Hard Dance club. This gave Mike the chance to rise up in this rather different yet extremely energetic scene. Since then Mike has come along way in the Hard Dance scene after becoming a Resident at PHD (Pure Hard Dance) Nightclub @ Inflation in July 08. Shortly after Mike was also chosen to play at Infekted, Melbourne’s other true Hardstyle Club & ever since has never turned back, also landing a spot at 3D Nightclub in their new Hardstyle room. Mike has recently stepped into the wonderful world of Producing and there’s no doubt that there are some big things in store in the near future for Mike not only as a dj but also as a Producer.
Dj eM has now played with & along side of some of the Biggest Local & International Dj’s in the Hard Dance Scene. Some of these names include: Showtek, Brooklyn Bounce, Bass Agents, Nik Fish, Bexta, Amber Savage, Pila, Steve Hill, Audio Damage, S Dee, Nitrouz, Hellraiser, Jewelz, Scott Alert, Soul T, Master Kaos, Dave Joy, Dr. Willis and many more!
Since Mike has taken the Hardstyle scene by storm, you can now find him at PHD on Saturdays, Infekted fortnightly, 3D fortnightly and various other Hardstyle & House/Electro events. Or you can catch one of Dj eM’s Hardstyle sets on Kiss Fm when he apprears every few weeks on the Transgression show on Monday Nights. SYN Fm Melbourne Radio Station also regularly plays a few of Dj eM’s remixes straight from the Infekted Cd’s Mike has mixed. Over the last few years, Mike has become an extremely talented, highly popular, well respected dj and is now becoming a widely recognized name across Melbourne and Abroad. Mike and his career will continue to become a bigger and bigger as his career progresses far into the future.
