THIS PAGE IS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING UPDATED! PLEASE PARDON THE APPEARANCE AS THIS WILL TAKE SOME TIME. THANKS!
Wassup everybody! The name is Mike Jackson. A.k.a. "Drumline". I am a Music Education major and a professional musician who plays both drum set and marching snare. Having played drums for over 15 years I have developed a great passion for the activity. I currently teach drums and I have taught both privately and in educational form. I've taught students in New Jersey, Baltimore, Maryland, and Atlanta, Georgia. Teaching is something that inspires me to learn more. The more you teach, the more you learn.
After graduating from Wallington High School (Wallington, NJ) in 2001, attending Catonsville Community College (Baltimore, MD) through May of 2002, I have been privileged to do quite a bit of traveling. I worked within the Drum and Bugle Corps activity in 2003, I've traveled overseas performing in various locations from 2004-2006 visiting China, Hong Kong, Japan, and London. I relocated to Atlanta, GA in 2006 on a brief hiatus to be with my family before taking back to the stage in the summer of 2008. I now reside in the Pocono Mountains of Tobyhanna, PA.
If you want to know more about my musical background and achievements, Click Here to read my bio .
I am the biggest fan of Drum Corps International (DCI)and Drum Corps Associates (DCA). As you can already tell that my favorite Corps of all time is the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps . After their tie with the Blue Devils in 1996, this 2008 season's OUTRIGHT win for Phantom was the biggest accomplishment to happen this year! I mean it couldn't be any better....the impossible happened when the New York Giants won the Super Bowl, I got back into my music involvements this year, I secured a much better job this year, I had the best birthday bash weekend of my life, Just couldn't be better!
I plan to continue my college education by attending Northampton Community College beginning in January, 2009. There I will pursue mostly my basic General Education courses before continuing to pursue my major in Music Education. In addition to music, I am also considering Electronics as a possible minor due to my strong interest in the field. Currently, I work as a Fire Inspector and Technician with SimplexGrinnell, the global leader in fire protection technology. It's a great job and a pretty decent career...so why not? I'm also into Meteorology so that may be a direction I venture towards as well.
Thanks again for checking out my page! Hopefully we will have the opportunity to chat sometime. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to leave me a comment or send me a direct message. Please come back and visit again soon!
