'Blues At The Blues' is an eight hour music event taking place at Macclesfield Town FC (Moss Rose Stadium, Macclesfield) on July 12th 2008.
The event, which is being held in association with Ronnie's Bar (Duke's Court, Macclesfield) will showcase some of the most exciting live acts of the region, including the legendary George Borowski and new psychedelic upstarts 'The Virginmarys', plus a host of other local talent. We are also delighted to welcome, as our headline act, popular young blues artist Aynsley Lister.

The VirginmarysThe Virginmarys mix blues and psychadelia with heavy Rock 'n' Roll, creating a dark and powerful sound that resonates influences from the late 60's and 70's. Their repertoire numbers over forty songs (and rising), with material from every stage of Rory Gallagher's career including his early days with Taste. Jim Kirkpatrick's Heavy WeatherHeavy Weather are an energetic and exciting 3 piece blues/rock outfit fronted by legendary guitarist Jim Kirkpatrick. Jim has most recently established himself as one of the North-West’s most aspiring young musicians through recording and touring with artist Thea Gilmore. Heavy Weather provides an ideal platform for Jim’s virtuosic guitar solos and growling vocals. The tight and punchy rhythm section combination of Carl (Bass) and Kegsy (Drums) adds to the mix, culminating in a formidable sound.
Cactus MoonHouse band for Blue Funk Rhythm and Blues Club in Poynton this band delights in taking both classic and obscure blues/rock pieces and reinterpreting them with their very original approach. Blessed with two exceptional guitarists, and a hot rhythm section containing one of the UK's few 6 string fretless bassplayers their sound is very much their own.
