About Me

Aaye Mellons,
Hello, my name is L.T. Bradley, and I am the author of © Trials of the Guardians, a new fantasy/horror book that’s about to make a big splash in the genre. Trials of the Guardians in the first booke in a trilogy known as the Trial Trilogy, which will be followed by a second trilogy which completes the series known as the Ragnarok Trilogy.
This booke takes place in the old world, Midgard, and revolves around three individuals, Ferin Nocktolas and his older brother, Haidden, along with their younger cousin, Connõr O’Dette. When the taxes of the Kingdom Aérogale become too high, The Nocktolas family, must leave their home in the rural farm lands to seek a less expensive living condition in the Outlands of Zaikiir, living with their cousin Connõr and his family.
However, along the way, their caravan is attacked my strange men who brutally murder both of their parents and kidnap Haidden, leaving Ferin for dead. But Ferin is able to make it to his cousin’s house before it’s too late, and tells his extended family of the horrors that he had witnessed in the Horöa forest. Meanwhile, Haidden realizes the truth of the strange men and the bizarre powers they displayed while killing his parents. They question him about these people called the “Guardians” but he is unable to give them any information, not knowing what they are talking about, and is transformed against his will into a vampire to serve one of them in any way he is asked for all of eternity.
At this time, Ferin, consumed by vengeance, sets out to seek a man named Rurick, whom he is told will be able to teach him how to wield a blade better than anyone else in the land, and help him to avenge the death of his family. Connõr, on the other hand, only wishes to follow so that he may see a more exciting life than that of a candle-maker’s son in a city where everything is the same every day.
But the Gods have other plans for these three, and after being struck by lightning, drowned, and nearly dying in a fire, Ferin, Haidden, and Connõr all realize that they are meant for a higher purpose, and that Ragnarok—the end of days—is approaching.
While trying to cope with the fact that they, along with others, they must now battle the embodiments of the Sins of Man—Lust, Avarice, Envy, Sloth, Wrath, Gluttony, and Vanity—to try and stop the apocalypse. They must also somehow learn to overcome crippling disputes between one another, as well as learn to work together to stop the world from falling into eternal darkness.
I sincerly hope that you will enjoy reading as much as I have enjoyed writing.

The Back Story:

Near the beginning of tyme, the Gods created the Nine Realms and all the beings within them: the elves, the dragons, the dwarves, fae, and Man. They created these beings in the hopes that they would be good natured and that they would thrive and live in the ways of justice and harmony, respecting the earth that Gods have gifted them. But the Æsir Gods were deceived by the trickster Loki and his evil daughter Hel, who crafted along with Man a darkness within their hearts. Seven Sins that would infest and blacken their souls.

Knowing that they could not allow Man's heart to become corrupt, the God's sealed away the Sins into a box that could not be opened except by the hand of a human whose heart was pure, putting a great deal of trust into this one creation.

They entrusted the Sacred Box to three women whom they so dubbed the Pan'Dora Sisterhood, and gifted them with an opulent and glorious palace which sat atop the highest and most magick point in all of Zaikiir: the Sang-Rouge Mountain.

For millennia the Sisterhood was able to keep the box safe and secure until one of them got a little too curious. She released the Sins into the world, allowing them to manifest and spread their evil into the hearts of all the inhabitants of Midgard.

The Æsir Gods were not able to interact directly at that point, for so many had lost faith in them, and so their hearts could not be touched, and so they formed what was known as the Star of Algiz, a heliotrope gem that controlled tyme, space, gravity, and energy as a whole. Some even say it was created by the great dragon deity Bahamut when he breathed fire onto a tear that fell from Odin's eye and hardened it.

The Gods hoped that the stone would be able to save the hearts of the those they had created when the Sins attacked, but the one being they had thought would be able to take care of the Star destroyed it, shattering it into four pieces and spreading the elemental abilities that lay dormant within.

Thinking fast the Gods devised a way for this to work to their advantage. The whole of the Star was too great for any one being to posses, but this way, perhaps they wouldn't have to.

They crafted four souls. These souls would posses the necessary attributes to take control of the Shards of the Star, and they would be henceforth named the Psyons. But the Psyons turned out to be very vulnerable, and the Gods soon realized that they would not be able to protect themselves when in battle with the Sins. So in turn, they created the Guardians. Five beings capable of harnessing the five elements--Earth, Wind, Storm, Fire, and Water. Their sacred duty would be to protect the Psyons and fight the Sins back into submission.

And so, with this in mind, the Trials began...
