About Me

This page is entirely, lovingly, adoringly, and with endless devotion, dedicated to music and those who give us their unique gift of melody, harmony, and rhythm.I love nature and music, and have always felt very strongly that the two are interconnected. The symmetry, the patterns, the wildness - there are endless parallels. I was a bit reluctant to join MySpace, but somehow, it drew me into its web. Often I find myself driving on freeways, struck by the fact that we as a society are so very isolated by our protective cocoons of steel and glass, easily avoiding interaction with one another as life moves along in what is often nothing but a slow-motion war. What is missing from our lives in this era is a sense of community. So here I am, in this strange and foreign land of cyberspace, attempting to reach out in a world that becomes more cold and distant each day.Lately I have found myself dreaming of establishing a foundation to help with the expenses incurred by touring rock musicians. I haven't figured it out yet; it's just a tiny seed I've planted deep in my mind.Think about it: You love a rock band. If you're my age, you bought their vinyl albums (or cassettes, or - heaven forbid - eight-track tapes). In subsequent years, you replaced those recordings on CD. You attended concerts, you bought a t-shirt here and there. But you've loved this band for decades, and the benefit you've derived from that love far outweighs the cost of your recordings, concert tickets, and memorabilia. It's quite a good deal, isn't it?Musicians give us a gift that is eternal. Often that gift enters our subconsciousness; a piece of music plays in our minds, perhaps a distraction, maybe a welcome one - but it's just another day, just another song. We receive it with the touch of a button and can remove it with another touch. It's easy, it's instant, it's taken for granted - and it should be none of these things. Music is the gift of light and love and soaring clouds. It is rays of sun, it is thunder, it is the crashing of the waves. It is pure emotion and all that is wonderful in life.
