born in jackson tennessee. this southern boy lived all in the south. from north and south carolina, oklahoma, arkansas and back to tennessee. poett curntly resides in ft smith arkansas. where he spent his junior high and high school years. this was the place where poett picked up his skillz on the mic. he took choir but the choir teacher saw that my skillz for flowing and not singing were more valuable. so he would pick songs that had little rap cuts in it and assign them to me. as my influnces were mainly christian at the time. with rappers such as dc talk, etw, d-boy"rest in peace my brother", gospel gangsta's, and sfc just to name a few. i was pickin up the mic and rockin it whenever i could. from performing in front of the whole school to opening up for diciples of christ when they perfomed at evangel temple in the 90's. as a teen i was just perfoming cover tracks. yet to truly hone my on style and musical sound. that would be developed in my 20's. as i went through a early life crises losing my high school sweet heart and the divorce of my family i was on a spiral downward. finding out my family had been on drugs for years and i didn't know it and finding out a few years before that i was adopted and i had a biological dad out there somewhere. i snaped thinking my whole life was a lie. so i wnet out on my own and got caught up in the drug and thug life. from sellin weed and cocain to poppin pills and doin meth. i was hangin with fellins and tryin to prove i was a thug. got caught up in the game in tennesse wid some playas and we was gonna do the rap lable and everything for real. but 2 years into an album ready to be released it fell apart. GOD just wasn't gonna let it happen. my first wife came into my life at that time a 10 year old friend from arkansas hunted me down found me and married me. but i wasn't the same guy she knew 10 years before. she tried to bring me back and she was getting close but in the end she gave up. that was the first wake up call. now i was ready to start looking to the LORD again and so i got back into church. about 8 months after the divorce i was doing better and GOD was working when i let HIM and so HE GAVE ME my second wife in whom i still love dearly. but the porn addiction i picked up in my thuged out years still had a hold on me and the devil was tempting me with transgenderism that those things took its toll on the marriage and she filed for divorce. now more than ever i am more determined to get it right with GOD. so now i have been back up in the studio with one of my old high school homies whitey mack. puttin down some new tracks and writing a new life. "laying it all down 4 u" is my greatest acomplishment of both bold lyrics and musical compostion that deals with some of lifes hardest topics. so sit back turn up the bumps and let a holy ghost track hit cha so hard that it'll make ya say praise tha LORD!
