Dale Hooks’ inclusion in this year’s Fate Awards is the product of working tirelessly within the Northern Ireland club scene for more than a decade. From the early days of Killwaughter House and the Network club to more recent times at Lush! and Yello, Dale has developed a distinctive sound. Playing alongside the likes of Marshall Jefferson, Erick Morillo, Eric Prydz, Steve Angello, Sebastein Leger, Laidback Luke, Kris Menace, CJ Mactintosh, Dj Delicious, Mischa Daniels, Brandon Block, Gordon Edge, Soul Central, Herd and Fitz, Jonathon Uylsses (Space), Tall Paul, Col Hamilton, Daley Padley, and Mark Wilkinson, and play for such brands as Kinetik, Yello, Kinky Malinki, Ministry Of Sound, Godskitchen (House set) Hed Kandi, The Hat Club, Ibiza Residents, and Eden. Dale has been at the forefront of the Northern Ireland club scene for quite some time.

Over this period Dale began to receive greater recognition for his talent, hard work and determination, culminating in him being offered offered a residency at Kinetik, Mynt’s Friday night creation. Visiting DJ’s were more than impressed with his energy behind the controls and wasted no time inviting him to play at various clubs around the world. To date Dale has played in London, Ibiza, Marbella, and Dublin. In the coming months he is also due to play in Poland, Latvia and with Kinky Malinki on their upcoming tours of Dubai.

As a producer his ventures in the studio are equally as impressive. Following the success of his first studio production ‘Lionrockit’, Dale joined forces with local DJ Jay Kay to form Hooks’n’Kay. Their debut track ‘Smokebelched’ gained international recognition and lead to kinky Malinki requesting their remix skills for their latest outing ‘Doubletrack’ feat Jamie Lee Wils which is due for full release in April.

Expect to hear a lot more from Dale Hooks, as 2008 looks set to be his biggest year yet!

Belfast boy Dale Hooks first got “hooked” on DJiing when he did a warm-up gig for House legend Marshall Jefferson back in 1995. Dale’s determination and passion for House music consequently landed him his first residency at one of the most prolific House clubs in Ireland’s clubbing legacy – the Network club in Belfast.

As Dale’s DJing profile rapidly increased within the Northern Ireland club scene, so too did his bookings. His reputation was such that he started to land gigs at clubs throughout Europe, including Ministry of Sound (London), Eden (Ibiza), Café Mambo (Ibiza) and Clockwork Orange at Es Paradis (Ibiza). A monthly residency with GlobalFM in Marbella followed, as too did appearances at Nikki Beach and Silks Beach.

More than a decade has passed since his DJing debut, yet Dale’s talent, technical ability and relentless passion for House music are more significant today than ever before. His sets continue to embrace a broad spectrum of House music, from deep and funky through to a more progressive and electro sound. Not only has Dale recently secured a main room residency at Belfast’s sensational polysexual after-hours club Yello, he has also made a number of storming guest appearances at world famous superclub Lush! in Portrush.

In addition to his hectic DJing schedule of late, Dale has also ventured into the studio to produce his debut track “Smokebelch”, which has already received airplay on Ministry of Sound Radio. With plenty more productions in the pipeline and an upcoming mix to be broadcast on the DTPM Radio Show on Push FM, its clear to see why more and more people are getting hooked on Dale Hooks’ distinctive House sound.
