Old Names is Jeremy R.R. and Mark W. Maynard. In this collaboration the two combine their background in experimentation and song craft. Originally from Flint, Michigan, they are responsible for numerous independent releases in the past, and have helped cultivate one of the most well respected music scenes in the United States. Currently, the duo live and work in New York.
Landlords & Landscapes finds Old Names breaking into vast fields of layered noises and rich tonal textures shaped into country lullabies that echo in the night. We travel miles and miles through premonitions and temporal self-awareness, lost in the places we only ever seem to find, for better or worse, in our dreams.
Landlords & Landscapes was recorded at the Tillary Lofts in Brooklyn, New York. Final mixes were done down the street with our friend Matthew Dear. It was driven up north and mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side Music.
