About Me

I draw comic books for a living. I've always wanted to do this and have had the good fortune to have worked on books like Batman, the Justice League, and the Legion Of Superheroes for DC Comics; a Star Wars series for Dark Horse(Splinter Of The Mind's Eye); and most recenty I co-created and drew a couple of great series for Wildstorm Productions, Tom Strong(with Alan Moore) and Ocean(with Warren Ellis).Plankton Studios is the workspace I use and share with my wife Xan wherever we happen to be living, which is currently a great apartment in Columbus, OH. It's where I do all of my drawing(except when I'm on the road sketching furiously away at comic conventions) and where I spend most of my time. It's full of items and objects that can be used as inspiration or reference for work--or just for play: books, comics, computers, reference material, movie props, photos and various kinds of art and art supplies.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Alan Moore is the only person I can think of right now...I worked from his scripts for years but never met him. Lou Reed, maybe...? I think either would be a little intimidating! I've actually been lucky enough to meet quite a few of the people I admire or find fascinating: R.E.M., Robyn Hitchcock, Elvis Costello from pop music; Michael Golden, Walter Simonson, Al Williamson, and countless others from comics.
