While generally shunning mainstream attitudes, only 2 acts have played live , ORCHARD (supporting Ultra Violence) & CUMULONIMBUS (supporting the legendary Engulfed). A steady flow of music in relation to increasing amounts of 2nd hand recording gear purchased ensued, then in 2000 , shocked with the asking prices of vintage synths, i started to build my own instruments, PAIA & Music from outer space + Ken Stone, provided the schematics, lots of solder/components/patience & time ..... the modular system & Titan synths were created. These have acted as a catalyst for more music making and they appear heavily on ORCHARD / 28G / D.O.C. releases.................................................... ............................... The origins of THUG & CUMULONIMBUS start way back with such infamous acts as MORTIS / CARRION in 1989-91 , then musical progression to ENGULFED (a story it's self), during this time a desire for ever faster, extreme metal spawned THUG,.....2 mad grindcore fans, two demos, two albums & an ep later, it still has to evoke unease before being considered for release..................................................... ............................................................ ................. CUMULONIMBUS - one man band with an undeniable hint to 2nd wave blackmetal, influenced by certain music from Norway 1991-94 (A blaze & Pure Hol)........................................................ ............................................................ ........................... DISCIPLES OF CYRUS - With the first recordings made in 1997, Golden-D & D.E.A. had originally planned a 4-track E.P. with a concept very influenced by the 1979 film THE WARRIORS (Walter Hill Dir.). DISCIPLES lay dormant until late 2006, when a full album of new material was agreed upon with unanimous approval. D.E.A. , with a fist full of hardcore rap lyrics and Golden-D armed with new synths, set about constructing the music, not using sampled loops, but playing the instruments, then labouring intensely over the production, resulting in a dynamic & unique sound, album is now finished and complete.................................................... ............................................................ ........ EPICYCLUS - "weird, relaxed & electronic" sounds a bit like old film music scores by John Carpenter, late 70's T.D. , elements of FIZZARUM (Russia) and DiN label type synth music, EPICYCLUS uses hardware synths only.
