Ralph Genis has had The Small Mercies Band since 1981 and played live in Los Angeles,Edinburgh,Glasgow.We play for charities,youth groups and local shows.Any gigs or festivals considered,thanks.Now situated At Glasgow,Scotland A little History for you,me and friends Evelyn,David tried out some songs in my father's garage,only lasted 2 weeks,too loud for the neighbours,so I got a taste of Rock 'N Roll,I've learnt folk music,jazz and blues also,some classical like Andres Segovia and I use all this to create songs.I've worn costumes and played Glasgow venues and Edinburgh to packed halls,reviews and met Phil Collins(Genesis)who wished us luck with music.I studies sound engineering,producing in Los Angeles so always time to practice with studio and made some wee rec. at Ca Va when home.Mostly tech with Wet,Wet,Wet and The Wake and we shared some memorable moments.Decided to reform in '86 with Chris(Breakpoint) and Dave and we played everywhere possible,youth groups,private parties and a Church Show for Noe who was burnt in a fire in El Salvador,our show was magnificent,as you can imagine,sound ricocheing from the stone walls,was like a huge prayer and I rec. and added to a few homepages,we raised enough money for Noe's skin grafts at U.C.L.A. Medical Centre.Made a few rec.with friend's Iain C and Ray,For The Moment which sounded good.Ricky arrived and after a years songwriting,he let me know he also wrote for E.M.I.
