Working on Friedrich Nietzsche's poetry is a rich, sensual experience for me. Nietzsche is not very well known and was unfortunately misused by the Nazis, who twisted his work and philosophy. However he was a special man, who was neither racist nor antisemitic. Nietzsche was passionate. His use of words is sensual and we feel his need for love and his despair caused by loneliness.
This profile shows you "work in progress", I will be composing and setting more and more poetry to music and singing them accompanied by dancers.
coming soon : Dylan Thomas and Else Lasker-Schüler
Influences: After classical piano and singing lessons in Germany, Caroline TUDYKA settled down in Paris. She took master classes at the "Studio des Variétés" but quickly distanced herself from clichees about "chanson française" or the German cabaret style.
Music is a universal language so her lyrics are written in German, in French and in English.
She's inspired by many kinds of music such as world music, classical or jazz and found her own original sound with these. See her "work in progress" on this profile.
She has performed "Dans mes Pensées" on the TV station France 2 ("Les Mots de Minuit") and is broadcast on French public radio stations like FIP with songs like "Le Temps d'un Soupir" or "Triangle" (these songs are on myspace.com/tudyka).
She has had concerts in Germany and France.
At the moment she is composing music for poems of F. Nietzsche and Dylan Thomas which will be performed together with dancers. Caroline is looking forward to presenting this work on stage ;)
