The scene was at its peak with local promoters organizing events on a weekly basis in abandoned warehouses, saloons, and already established club venues. It wasn't until 1996 that he decided that he wanted to learn how to mix records after he got a feel from borrowed turntables. Teaching himself the art of mixing took a lot of dedication, passion, and understanding of musical structures. If you listen to his sets attentively, you'll notice that he mixes harmonically, one of many features that takes time to achieve. When it comes to his style of music, he prefers Electro/Progressive House and a little bit of Tech-House. As for where Luis Ojeda has spun, he has performed in various locations in Cd. Juarez, Mex., El Paso, Tx. and has 5 years experience spinning professionally. He had recently started organizing events on a local level to gain the experience of what it takes to work inside the music industry.
One of the goals in mind is to further expand his musical talents in the electronic music industry. As an independent contractor and entrepreneur, he has already started his own company called, New Heights Entertainment, which is an independent d.j. booking agency and record label. His plans are to book himself nationally and globally, getting publicity in all areas of the media, and building a base of respectful fans. D.J. Luis Ojeda stands out from the rest of the industry in that he is independent, he is self educated in the field of business, and he is dedicated to provide the best performances a d.j. can offer.
With Cd. Juarez being a border town near El Paso, there have been countless numbers of events being organized in this location. Promoters and d.j.'s have been organizing events for 8 years now, bringing major influences from the music industry such as D.J.’s from Global Underground, Nubreed, Balance Booking Agency, and major record label CrossTown Rebels. Audiences from this town have been big supporters of electronic music, keeping abreast on all the latest news, trends, and musical artists that it's becoming an epidemic. Now, with Cd. Juarez at its height in peak performances in the music scene today and El Paso with its established music scene, put together, they have a big metropolitan city with over two million in population.
