After Cut-Up Redhead's messy split up, Vocalist/Guitarist Chris H went into musical exile, while re-assessing his music future; all while fending off criticism by former bandmates and fellow musicians. It was during this break that Chris started Poor Tele.
Originally planned to be bare basic band, quickly evolved into a complex mix of current day dance-punk and alternative rock from the 90’s, making for a clever and interesting music listening experience.
Chris later recruited former Something Phantom bassist Arnold Z to bring his vast musical background to Poor Tele. Arnold’s influence was immediately felt upon arriving to Poor Tele encouraging a classic D.I.Y. “Passion before Fashion†mentality
Currently the band is working on its debut release tentatively set for a late 2009 release. The band is also putting together the rest of the band line-up, as they plan to book shows in late 2009
In case if you are wondering about the band name, Chris was watching a video of a 1994 Radiohead performance on the Conan O’Brien show; He noticed a comment on the video that talked about Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood abusing his Fender Telecaster that read “ aw that poor teleâ€
