Back in the good old days of the Hollywood, California music scene, Sue Richman was an aspiring teen-aged singer who would go to the underground clubs to hear her favorite bands. While at The Brave New World, she met The Sons Of Adam. Their singer & songwriter, Joe Kooken, heard Sue's record that was in the juke box at the club. He asked Sue if she wanted to start a band with him. She excitedly said yes.
Joe (who changed his name to Jac Ttanna) & Sue started rounding up members for their new project. While at Gazzarri's on the Sunset Strip, they heard Kent Henry on guitar & Fred Rivera on bass with their band
Eddie James (Edward James Olmos) and The Pacific Ocean.
They were too good to pass up, so they were recruited. They found a funky drummer named Bob Metke, and Genesis was formed.
Genesis was managed by Howard Wolf & the infamous Chet Helms of San Francisco's Family Dog Productions. They signed with Mercury Records & released "Genesis In The Beginning". Genesis played all over L.A. & San Francisco, and toured the U.S. & Canada opening for Janis Joplin with Big Brother & The Holding Company, Jefferson Starship, The Yardbirds, The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown & many more bands of that era.
