About Me
Life is desperate but not serious, full of humor, even amid tough challenges. I see humor and spirituality in most things, especially in my sons' busy lives (ages 16 & 19, my late wife's best achievements) as I try to keep them on track. Being Mom and Dad is not for the faint of heart. (I have two adult sons and two grandchildren as well...whew!) To care for the younger two, I am taking a break from being self-employed as a public relations and marketing consultant for emerging hi-tech enterprises in Silicon Valley. Have served for years as Director of PR for major semiconductor manufacturers. My accountant says I'd better get back into it. Wanted to write the "great American novel," but was relegated to the great American press release. A reformed mountain climber in the Sierras, I hold a commercial FAA license for high-performance sailplanes and am rated for single-engine airplanes. Have you ever witnessed a cloud being born around you or climbed skyward like a homesick angel? Or experienced an unplanned landing in a farmer's field? Those hobbies disappeared along with season tickets to the symphony and theater as my sons became more expensive, but they are well worth it. A spiritual seeker, amateur mystic & former Buddhist, I am a long-time convert to Catholicism, merging the mystical with the practical aspects of life. Have the equivalent of a master's degree in pastoral theology to go along with a B.A. and an "almost" M.A. in English-Language

ng-American Literature (not to mention Radio-TV). As an ordained deacon, am involved part-time in preaching humorously from a family perspective, baptizing infants, conducting weddings, funerals, vigils (wakes), etc. Will not try to change you or convince you of anything - want to learn about, of and from you. Adventure, humor, optimism, meditation, spirituality, independence, a simpatico companion, expansive mountainous vistas, ocean sunsets and good California wine are important to me. Healthy physically and emotionally, trustworthy, honest, sincere, mischievous, sometimes annoying but definitely not into games, nor do I believe in controlling people. Can't dance, can't can't carry a tune in a bucket, but I have all my hair (in a box under the bed). I wish you peace, joy, fulfillment and the discovery of all you are searching for. BTW, I have discovered that there is justice in the world -- kids grow up to encounter and be subject to the same dire problems and circumstances that they caused before they left home. I have also discovered that I have more space available here than I have words, probably for the first time in my life. Okay, your turn...
