duplex 100 is the live-act/dj/producer duo sam rouanet (french) and phil stumpf (german). they met in 1997 in paris, started producing tracks together in 1999 and and have since become a very busy duo producing and releasing on several labels (initial cuts, treibstoff, morris/audio, onitor, popular tools) as well as dj-ing together in their memorable ping-pong way. last not least their long-awaited live-act will be ready for 2005!as residents of the renowned nouveau casino club in paris duplex 100 are the founders, hosts and residents of the “cult†party series „minimal dancin“ which started out as the first minimal house party in paris in 2001. together with top dj..s and live-acts from around the world duplex 100 have become a reference for straight-forward-funky-get-your-ass-shakin’ minimal house!sam rouanet came to paris via chicago and london where he was working as dj and jazz musician with people from bands like isotope 217° or tortoise. his solo pseudonym is reynold. he lives in berlin and also runs the label trenton together with aspro.phil stumpf started off as producer and part of the german electro-live-house band oh. in 1996, shortly after became dj and now releases his solo material on such labels as tom bone, frankie, festplatten, lumina or morris/audio. he is living and working in paris.in 1999 sam and phil also formed an electronic jazz band called canvas together with the double bass player james sindatry. their debut album “buona modulazione†was released on nacopajaz in 2004. their second album in the making.
