ALLAN VIRGO - was born in 1983 in Kingston Jamaica, he started his journey into the world of fashion by working for his mother’s seamstress business from the tender age of seven. Under the tutelage of his mother, Allan not only developed and mastered the skill to make beautiful dresses, but learned the importance of a strong work ethic. Later on in life, he went on to study fashion design at the prestigious school The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. In May 2008 he received his bachelors degree with a double major in Fashion Design and International Trade and Marketing . While in school Allan Virgo became an integral part of the design teams at such companies as: Baby Phat,Guess Inc and Micheal Kors. He was born legally blind in his left eye. Daren’s grandfather, William Chambers was a prominent artist who studied at the Arts Student League and had his works displayed in galleries and at the Studio Museum in Harlem. Chambers knew he was an artist at the tender age of six years old. After studying art throughout high school and at School of Visual Arts, Chambers later connected and fell in love with jazz and blues music, a common theme in his early works. Chambers Jazz Formula paintings explode with vibrant colors and texture that represent the rhythm, movement and energy Chambers finds in his beloved jazz and blues. Chambers has exhibited throughout the tri-state area. His work is in public and private collections throughout the country. With the advent of the Passages exhibition Chambers has begun to explore cultural themes associated with his Latin and African American heritage.
