The Real Rock n Roll Buck ZumHofe

About Me

After all these years, I am still at it. Perhaps not the big major leagues anymore, but there is still a market for traditional wrestling and that is what I do!Been wrestling for 34 years now. Of course, I started with Verne Gange in 1975...went on to wrestle in Vancouver, Portland, California, Hawaii, had a great run with World Class in Texas, toured Germany and Japan, made occasional apperances with Vince, but always returned to my homebase The AWA.After the AWA closed in the early 90's, I didn't roll over and die...I wrestled for every independent wrestling company I could. After seeing a lot of fly by night organizations, I got mad and decided to start my own wrestling league fashioned after Verne Gagne's AWA. Naming it after myself, I have been successfully running Rock n Roll Wrestling for the last 10 yrs.

My Interests

I would like to tell everyone! Like every human being, I have had great great times and very very low times in my life, but as far as wrestling goes...I wouldn't have changed a thing, and I thank you thousands of thousands of fans!Sincerely, Gene Buck ZumHofe

I'd like to meet:

I am a big fan of "Boston Legal"...I would like to sit out on the balcony and enjoy a cigar with Denny Crane and Allen Shore. I'd work for free just to be on that show once!As far as old friends go, I would love to spend a weekend with Playboy Buddy Rose & Col. DeBuers. Maybe spend a weekend in Vegas with Greg Gagne and his buddy "Mike".I've met so many great people in my career that it is almost impossible to single out anyone in particular.

Music:

Of course I am associated with Rock n Roll music, but my love for Rock n Roll music is more traditional. Because of my age, there are a lot of country entertainers that I enjoy like Willie Nelson, Waylin Jennings, and Johnny Cash. Over the years, with my traveling, I have also attended a lot of musical theatre such as Fiddler on the Roof and even the Opra. My biggest joy would have to have been spending and evening with The Crusher and a good old Polka band.

Movies:

Same as my music, my taste for movies may be a little old fashion...all of Clint Eastwood's cowboy movies, all his Dirty Harry movies, big fan of old black and white full length movies, which I collect, including the Marx Brothers, Laurel and Hardy, 3 Strooges and more.

Television:

Boston Legal, Jay Leno, A&E, The History Channel and AMC...that's about it!

Books:

I own the whole complete series of The Detective Sherlock Holmes Adventures, along with a complete set of Agatha Christie Mysteries, and even belong to the Alfred Hitchcock book of the month club!

Heroes:

My heroes have always been cowboys! You have to remember between 8 and 12 yrs of age, I grew up in a black and white world of television, where Saturday mornings brought us Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, Hop Along Cassidy, and Wild Bill Hickcock. As a teen, I discovered my life long idles...Crusher, Maddog, Verne, and all the big names of the AWA at that time. Now as an adult, the most influencial person in my life would have to be Charles Swindoll.
