Television Man are based in Hastings, and began playing around the beginning of 2008. Born from a jam session organised by members Sonny Matthews and Rob Hill, they quickly formed as new members were brought in to play. Although the main aim of the project was always to have a laugh, as a sound gradually developed through various tracks written at practice or by individual members, the band began to get more serious. Influenced partially by the funky guitar and bass styles of Sonny and Chris, filled by the groovy organ sound from Rob Hill, backed up by solid drum beats from Carl Carzana and topped off with vocals by Tom Fryer, the band has gradually, through composition and covering songs, developed into something more perhaps than any of the members had predicted.
